The Story - Bali Blue

The Story - Bali Blue

Bali Blue is sourced from family-owned farms nestled in the fertile Kintamani highlands of Bali, Indonesia. Grown at elevations of 1,200 to 1,600 meters, this coffee thrives in the nutrient-rich volcanic loam of the Balinese mountains. The coffee trees are shaded by vibrant citrus groves, which not only protect the beans but also contribute to the soil’s complexity, enhancing the beans' flavor profile.

The coffee bean varieties—Bourbon, Typica, and Catimor—are meticulously cultivated under the age-old Subak Abian system. This unique Balinese cooperative model goes beyond farming; it’s rooted in the Hindu philosophy of Tri Hita Karana ("three causes of well-being"). This belief fosters harmony between humans, the environment, and the divine, ensuring that every cup of coffee you enjoy is a product of balanced and respectful cultivation.

Within this system, farmers collaborate to manage water resources using sophisticated, sustainable irrigation techniques passed down for generations. This collective effort preserves both the ecosystem and the community’s well-being.

The beans are carefully hand-picked at peak ripeness, undergo traditional wet-hulling (a distinct process in Indonesia that adds depth to the flavor), and are sun-dried on raised beds to preserve their purity and quality. Once harvested, they are roasted to a precise medium-dark balance, unlocking rich tasting notes of dark chocolate, velvety molasses, and sweet brown sugar.

Bali Organic Blue Moon is more than just a coffee—it's a connection to Bali’s ancient traditions, sustainable farming practices, and the lush landscapes of the Kintamani highlands. Every sip carries the essence of nature’s harmony and a flavor profile that reflects the care and reverence with which it was crafted.
